Donna Astor-Lazarus, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified School
Social Worker, is the Co-Clinical Director of The Lazarus Institute where she maintains
a full-time psychotherapy practice.
Before entering the mental health profession, Ms. Astor-Lazarus was the Vice
President of the highly successful financial advertising firm Astor-Osborn and
Company, Inc.
Ms. Astor-Lazarus received her B.A. and M.S.W. from Rutgers University and
completed her clinical internship at the Carrier Foundation where she went on to a
distinguished career eventually becoming the Center Director of outpatient services.
Before accepting the Center Director position, Ms. Astor-Lazarus was the Coordinator
of the Partial Hospitalization Program, and the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program.
In addition to her hospital-based and private practice experience, Ms. Astor-Lazarus
has been a Certified Yoga Instructor for 20 years and served for several years as a
Student Assistance Counselor and a Certified School Social Worker at the Montgomery
Middle School.
A widely acclaimed presenter on stress management and matters of self-esteem
and woman’s issues, Ms. Astor-Lazarus has also served as the Support Group Leader
for the New York Metropolitan Chapter of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
